Since 1 May 2024, Victoria's updated NCC 2022 energy efficiency requirements have applied to new homes. Under the NatHERS compliance pathway, homes must achieve a minimum 7-star rating and a Whole-of-Home rating of at least 60. For modern home builders and the families building with them, that changes some of the earliest decisions in a design. Here's what it means, explained simply.
